Road Fogies: a couple of fogies traveling with their poodle

Mount Washington, New Hampshire

Today we finally drove to the top of Mount Washington on the Auto Road, or rather Tom drove and I alternately looked at the fantastic views and cringed when the truck go to close to the edge. Tom has always been a good driver so I was not too scared. It really was worth the drive, pictures can only do so much to describe the experience. There are other ways to the top, hiking in on one of several trails or taking the cog railway.
In the first few pictures you can see Mount Adams, Mount Jefferson and Mount Madison. They make up the largest of the mountains in the presidential range. You will also see the cog railroad making its way up the mountain. The stone building, Tip Top House, was used by the workers and the little wood building was used by the men of the weather observatory, note it had to be chained down so it would not blow away in the fierce winter storms.
