Our first RV adventures were in our Jayco Eagle 5th Wheel RV. We purchased it used because we were not sure this idea of living in an RV for 3 or 4 months or more would work. As it turned out our first year at Seminole Campground in North Fort Myers was a great success. We loved the campground and the people we met and, needless to say, we loved not having to battle the Ohio Winter weather. Seminole Campground is a redeveloped campground that had deteriorated into a very undesirable spot. The current owner, Paul, bought it a few years ago and cleaned it up but left enough of the "Old Florida" atmosphere. The curving lanes are lined with old Live Oaks and Pines, an area in the back as been designated as a nature trail and dog walking area (there is an additional fenced dog park). Wild life is abundant, it is not unusual is see a gopher tortoise roaming around or a Bald Eagle flying overhead.
During the first intervening summer we took the 5th wheel on some local (Ohio) camping trips and Tom lived in it while volunteering at Camp Perry for the National Shooting Competition. Then we were ready for something more adventuresome. We headed west. Well really north first, to get out of Florida, then west. We made a few stops in Florida, first at Homasassa Springs, FL to swim with the manatees then on to New Orleans, LA. On this trip we visited, NOLA, Galveston, San Antonio, Houston, and The Johnson Space Center in Texas, The Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refugee in OK, President Eisenhower's Home and Library, Fort Riley, Junction City and Lake Milton in Kansas, St Louis and the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial (Gateway Arch) in Missouri before heading back to Ohio for the summer. In September of 2013 we went west again to Nebraska to attend a huge antique auto auction. On that trip we also visited the Niobrara National Wildlife Refuge in Valentine, NE and the Corn Palace in Mitchell, SD.
At the end of our third year in Florida again took the long way home roaming up through Georgia and Alabama making stops at Eufaula, AL, Chattanooga and Nashville, TN and Mammoth Cave, Ky. We had a great time in all of these spots and recommend them to all of our friends.

We are now making a new start in our Windsport Motor Home. We purchased it this summer after much discussion and deliberation. Next week we begin our a first journey in it, this time going east to New England and the Maritime Provinces of Canada.
